When Irish defensive end Isaiah Foskey decided to sit out his senior season as well as the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, it came as no surprise. Brother Justin and Jason Ademilola are seniors who could stay another year, the only returning significant contributors sure to return to the Isril factories.
There is a big hole that needs to be filled on the defensive line, even with the return of the Ademilola brother. With that in mind, The Athletic’s Max Olson discussed what he’s hearing on the transfer portal (subscription required), and he mentioned Notre Dame pursuing Western Michigan’s Braden Fiske. Olson has heard that Florida State, USC and Oklahoma are on the defensive end side, so the competition is fierce for the transfer.
Braden Fiske is probably my favorite portal I watched today.
Big (6-5, 300), but moves incredibly well, plays with high energy and is very active with his hands.
improved over the years. I think he will be the guy who plays on Sundays. https://t.co/9IvEHMyYI4 pic.twitter.com/P2dUmNTfco

Fiske has already visited Florida State and isn’t sure where his next visit might be. If Marcus Freeman could make it to South Bend, that would be an interesting development indeed.
