Aqua Appoints Michael Convery as Director of Planning and Engineering | Jobs Vox

Aqua Pennsylvania has announced the promotion of Michael Convery to the newly created position of Director of Planning and Engineering.

In his new role, Convery oversees all Aqua Pennsylvania capital responsibilities, including all infrastructure improvement projects throughout the state that help improve service and reliability for customers.

In addition, he will implement plans and policies to ensure that the water and wastewater needs of future customers are met through replacement and rehabilitation of major aqua facilities including treatment plants, pipes, wells and storage tanks . He will also manage a team that works closely with state and local officials to ensure that projects meet all necessary regulatory requirements.

“Michael’s extensive experience on our engineering team and successful execution of various capital projects across the state make him a strong fit for this role,” said Mark Lucca, President of Aqua Pennsylvania. “Michael is a strong leader, known for his ability to engage and engage with team members throughout the planning and design process as well as project start-up. For the past 14 years, Convery has been an integral team member in Aqua’s engineering department, starting as a project engineer before being promoted to project manager. He planned and executed several capital improvement projects in Pennsylvania, including Aqua’s new state-of-the-art environmental laboratory in Bryn Mawr, which opens in July 2021. doubling the size of the lab, which conducts about 90,000 water quality tests a year. Convery is also committed to Aqua Pennsylvania’s partnership with the Villanova University College of Engineering, which provides mentorship opportunities and water quality expertise for the college’s international water service work. In 2017, Convery participated in a service trip to Nicaragua to break ground on a water distribution project, highlighting his enthusiasm for supporting students’ career development and Aqua’s strong commitment to the community.

Convery earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from Penn State University and is currently pursuing his MBA. He currently resides in Havertown with his wife and three children.
