Amazon to set up 120-job facility in Visakhapatnam in 2023 | Jobs Vox

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has announced that Amazon will set up a facility in Visakhapatnam in 2023.

The largest online retailer will make an initial investment of Rs 55.65 lakh with approximately 120 jobs in Amazon’s software development system and IT-based service center in Visakhapatnam. STPI made this announcement on Twitter on Monday and said that projected software exports are likely to be Rs 184.12 crore over the next three years.

After Infosys, Amazon is the second major company to enter tier-II and tier-III cities across the state. Currently, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Fluentgrid, Ciient, VNS and other companies are conducting operations from Visakhapatnam.

In another recent development, the state government has also allotted 130 acres of land to the Adani group for setting up a technology park at an estimated cost of Rs 14,500 crore.

In a bid to make Visakhapatnam the IT hub of Andhra Pradesh, IS Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy met various industry executives at the recent World Economic Forum and pledged full support to make it possible. Apart from IT, Visakhapatnam is likely to be a hub for all startups in the state, the Chief Minister reiterated.
