Mac Allister showed a maturity beyond his years in the World Cup final, with the likes of Aurelien Chuamin and Adrien Rabiot really struggling to match him.

McAllister was briefly transformed into Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme during an epic encounter at Qatar’s Lusal Stadium.

Footage of the midfield maestro portraying the icon has racked up some crazy numbers on Twitter and after watching it, it’s easy to see why.

As midfielder performances go in World Cup finals, Mac Allister’s is right up there with the best in modern history.

Giovanni Lo Celso, who missed the tournament through injury, may now be fighting to regain his place in Scallone’s starting XI.

McAllister is here to stay and poor ol’ Brighton are going to have an offer for him from Europe’s elite flying to them in the near future.

McAllister was signed by the Seagulls back in January 2019, but his contract saw him spend the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Argentinos Juniors.

He then had a spell at Boca Juniors before making his Brighton debut against Wolves in March 2020.

It took him a while to make an impact on the south coast of England, but since the start of the 2021/22 campaign, McAllister has developed at a rapid pace and we are now seeing a player who looks like a playground for a World Cup final.

McAllister has scored 5 goals in 14 Premier League appearances in 2022/23 and the second half of the season is likely to see him even better after his memorable trip to Qatar.
