Airtel, Tech Mahindra to set up India’s first 5G car manufacturing unit at Chakan facility | Jobs Vox

[ad_1]

Airtel and Tech Mahindra today announced a strategic partnership and rolled out ‘5G for Enterprise’ at its manufacturing facility in Chakan, making it India’s first 5G car manufacturing unit. Earlier this year in March, Airtel and Tech Mahindra announced a partnership to jointly develop and sell 5G use cases.

‘5G for Business’ Solution – Chakan facility becomes India’s first 5G-enabled car manufacturing unit

Chakan’s network connectivity has been significantly increased as a result of the “5G for Business” solution, resulting in faster software flashing, a key process for all vehicle shipments. Because of the high speeds and low latency, managers can now run a large number of software flashing sessions in parallel, resulting in a shorter turnaround time for the activity.

Furthermore, computerized vision-based inspection is now fully automated, resulting in better paint quality. Airtel is a pioneer in 5G deployment in India. The firm has been experimenting with use cases and spectrum delivery with several partners and in different locations as part of its #5GforBusiness services.

Airtel’s #5GforBusiness portfolio and Tech Mahindra’s industry understanding will provide customers with specialized services, proven system integration and 5G solutions for enterprises like Factori.

NKST’s expertise in planning, designing, deploying and managing private enterprise wireless networks would benefit business customers and drive 5G adoption in India.

This partnership fits with Tech Mahindra’s NKST.NOV strategy, which focuses on investing in new technologies and solutions that help drive digital transformation and meet consumer needs.

Speaking about the partnership, Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO, Airtel Business, said:

Our 5G enterprise solution will transform manufacturing operations in the country. We are delighted to partner with Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Auto to demonstrate this transformation and have made the Chakan manufacturing facility India’s first 5G car manufacturing unit. As the Industry 4.0 paradigm gains momentum, reliable data networks will prove to be a key differentiator in factory and manufacturing performance. This is just the beginning and I am sure we will showcase many more innovative use cases that will help redefine manufacturing in India.

Speaking about the partnership, Manish Vyas, President, Communications, Media & Entertainment and CEO, Network Services, Tech Mahindra said:

The introduction of 5G technology has revolutionized the internet world, ushering in a new era of connectivity, communication and collaboration. Our collaboration with Airtel aims to enhance customer experience through digitally enabled platforms and new age solutions. We are confident that this partnership will help unlock opportunities across industries to improve productivity, drive the intelligent digitization of the network-driven enterprise, and drive innovation.
