Leh, Dec 20: Leaders led by Block Development Council (BDC) Leh and Kargil Chairman Chuchot Saira Bano today met in Raj Niwas with Ladakh Lieutenant Governor R.K. Met Mathur.
They raised several issues viz. Enactment of Ladakh Panchayati Raj Act in Ladakh; Interfering with the inclusion of BDCs as ex-officio members in the LAHDC Act; Establishment of Zila Parishads in Ladakh; the need for appropriate BOD offices with secretary/BDO, PA and transport; Grant of Block Development Council Fund; Include BDKs and sarpanches in the various development plans implemented by the Hill Council; increase in honor; issue an order to collect the income and deliver it to the relevant organization for construction work; Conducting direct elections of BDP; On the occasion of the restoration of independence, the leaders of the BDP will hoist the national flag, etc.
Block Development Council Chairman, Sod, Zakir Hussain met LG Mathur and raised issues related to his constituency and provided relief package to drought-hit Sod block; Grant subdivision status to Sod Block; Funds etc. for early completion of Kargil-Dumgil road to be provided by BRO.
Representatives of Maan Pangong and Phobrang, led by Councilor Chushul Konchok Stanzin, met with LG Mathur and raised several issues, including permission to construct temporary structures in Maan Pangong; Punishment of flagship bank branch along with ATM facility in Lukung; Interfering with installation of 4G mobile tower in Phobrang village etc.
Representatives of the Lingshed Gonpa Culture and Welfare Association, led by Chief Reverend Stanzin Nurboo, raised several issues. Effective functioning of Singge Lalok Community Developmental (CD) block; Licensing of funds for the establishment of a museum at Lynshed Monastery, etc.
A delegation of Ladakh Lin-Gon Yarchos Chenmo, led by former Commandant K Norboo, has requested to open a leading bank branch along with an ATM in Nieraks village.
A delegation led by Agling Tsogspa president Punchok Angchuk along with former LAHDC chairman Leh Gyal P Wangyal met LG Mathur and asked for a decentralized sewage treatment plant (STP) and proper drainage mechanism at appropriate places in Agling.
