Srinagar: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has received the Certificate of Appreciation under the category Engineering Educational Excellence Award from ‘The Institute of Engineers India’ among all engineering institutes including NITs and IITs in India.
The award was given during the 37th Indian Engineering Congress organized by The Institute of Engineers Tamil Nadu State Center in Chennai. NIT Srinagar received “Citation” under the category Engineering Educational Excellence Award by The Institute of Engineers India.
Certificate presented by Dr. K. Ponmudi, Minister of Higher Education and Padmabhushan Dr. AS Pillai, Founder CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace to Dr. Harveer Singh Pali, Nodal Officer Institute Ranking, NIT Srinagar on 16 December 2022 in Chennai.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal congratulated the faculty, research scholars and staff. “NIT Srinagar has done well in the Engineering Academic Excellence Award and it was a joint effort and everyone has done well,” he said.
Sehgal also appreciated the work done by Dr. Harveer Singh Pali, who was the nodal officer for the institute ranking. He said that much more remains to be done and such results are encouraging.
The Registrar of the Institute, Prof. Syed Qaiser Bukhari congratulated all the faculty colleagues and said that NIT Srinagar has performed well in all parameters.
“Soon a time will come when NIT Srinagar will be ranked top among government run engineering colleges in India. We will continue to provide quality education and create state-of-the-art facilities on campus.
Prof Bukhari attributed the contribution of all faculty colleagues, senior administration staff, no teaching staff and students. He also appreciated the role of Dr. HS Pali and his entire team for doing exemplary work.
“NIT Srinagar is committed to bridging the gap between society and technology. He said that in future the institute would work harder to maintain its position among the top colleges of the country.
Dr. Pali, Nodal Officer, Institute Ranking appreciated the efforts and active participation by all the team members, faculty staff and students, which led to this great achievement.
Engineering Educational Excellence Awards are based on more than 30 important parameters, placement performance, teaching-learning resources and pedagogy, research (volume, income and reputation), industry income and integration, placement strategies and support, future orientation and external perception, and International outlook.
Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] It has established its rich legacy for the promotion and advancement of the science, practice and profession of engineering through a number of activities over the last 100 years.
IEI has been instrumental in defining excellence and setting benchmarks for the upliftment of engineering education. Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. The Government of India has recognized it as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) based on its contribution in the field of scientific and industrial research.
